What are the different uses of MEMS gyroscopes?

Gyroscope is a device that measures or maintains the attitude (direction) and angular velocity of an object, so it is also called a motion sensor. In simple terms, a gyroscope allows our device to accurately sense its current position, direction, and device status.

The ER-MG-056 is a single-axis MEMS gyroscope (angular rate sensor) in a hermetically sealed ceramic LCC surface mount package (11x11x2mm), which has a lower manufacturing cost and is more suitable for large-scale applications.

 

What Are The Different Uses Of Mems Gyroscopes
 

It is manufactured through advanced micromachining technology and uses high-performance silicon-based MEMS sensor elements. Its internal sensitive structure is exquisitely designed and can work stably in complex environments, effectively improving the performance and reliability of the gyroscope.

**Measurement accuracy and stability**

→ Bias instability 3°/h

→ Angular random walk 0.25°/√h

→ Bias stability 5°/h

This means that during long-term measurement, the output deviation of the sensor fluctuates little, and the measurement accuracy can be maintained stably, which is suitable for dynamic measurement scenarios with high accuracy requirements. ​

The measurement range of this gyroscope can reach ±400°/s, which can meet the measurement requirements in high-speed rotation scenarios.

The temperature compensation technology enables it to operate normally in extreme temperature environments from - 40°C to + 85°C.

**How to use it? Where to use it? **

It can accurately measure and maintain the orientation, attitude and position, helping drones achieve stable flight and precise control. ​

It is used for motion measurement and maintenance, and provides key data for the motion state monitoring of mechanical equipment.

 

Autonomous driving: stability program, anti-rollover system (detects vehicle side slip/yaw angular velocity).

Robot: Balance control (such as bipedal robots, balance cars), motion perception and path planning.

UAV/flight control: Detects the pitch, roll and yaw angular velocity of the aircraft, which is the core sensor for flight stability and automatic control.

Industrial equipment: Monitors mechanical vibration, speed and stability of rotating equipment.
