ER-FNS-02 High Precision FOG North Seeker
Introduction
The FOG north seeker is mainly used for quickly and autonomously determining the true north direction. The Earth's rotational speed is obtained through high-precision fiber optic gyroscope. The signal of the Earth's rotational speed is calculated to determine the Angle between the gyroscope's main axis and the Earth's true north direction, providing azimuth information for the carrier. It does not rely on satellite signals and can provide accurate true north direction references in closed or complex environments.
The ER-FNS-02 series single-axis FOG north seeker is mainly composed of a high-precision single-axis fiber optic gyroscope, a high-precision rotation mechanism, a digital signal processing unit, and other mechanical components.
Applications
- High-precision geodetic surveying: Topographic mapping in remote areas (mountainous regions, deserts), terrain surveying in areas without satellite signals, orientation calibration of geodetic control points, replacing traditional optical theodolites;

Usage and maintenance
During use, if it is found that the north seeker does not output serial port data, one should check whether the connection is correct, whether the serial port settings and data reception format are correct. If the checks are all correct, professional personnel should be sought for repair.
Cautions
The North Seeker should be handled with care during transportation and installation, and must not be subjected to impact.
During the process of seeking the north, the carrier must remain absolutely stationary. Otherwise, the accuracy will be affected.
