Harbin Project Wukong Set A New AUV Depth Record In China

Harbin Engineering University's "AUV Key Technology Research Project Team" has completed the third stage of deep sea test and returned to its home port in Qingdao.During the deep-sea scientific expedition in the Western Pacific Ocean organized by the National Deep Sea Base Management Center, the WuKong AUV made a 5,000-meter and 7,000-meter deep dives, reaching a maximum depth of 7,709 meters, setting a new record for China's unmanned and unanchored submersible AUV (the previous record was 5,213 meters).This is also the second deepest AUV in the world after the Russian Warrior D AUV.
