Tiangong No. 2 Space Laboratory Will Be Controlled To Re-enter The Atmosphere On The 19th.

According to the official news of the China Manned Space Engineering Office, the Tiangong No. 2 Space Laboratory has completed all the expansion tests. It is scheduled to be controlled and derailed on July 19, 2019 Beijing time, and re-enter the atmosphere. A small amount of debris will fall into the South Pacific. The safe sea area is scheduled to range from 160 degrees to 90 degrees west longitude and 30 degrees to 45 degrees south latitude.

According to reports, Tiangong 2 was launched into orbit on September 15, 2016. It has been designed for two years of on-orbit life. It has been flying in orbit for more than 1,000 days and has been in service for 9 months. The platform and load function are normal and in good condition.

Tiangong 2 was improved on the basis of the Tiangong No. 1 backup target aircraft. It consists of a test cabin and a resource compartment. The total length is 10.4 meters, the maximum diameter of the cabin is 3.35 meters, and the span of the solar sail is about 18.4 meters. The take-off weight is About 8.6 tons, it has important functions such as rendezvous and docking with Shenzhou manned spacecraft and Tianzhou cargo spacecraft, implementation of propellant on-orbit addition, space science experiment and technical test.
