Chinese Missile Defense System

First, China's anti-missile capability made a huge leap after importing the S-300 system from Russia in 1993. The 48N6E2 missile was optimized to destroy short-range ballistic missiles. In recent years, China has acquired the S-400, which has the capability to handle missiles with a range of up to 3,500 kilometers.

China-made HQ-9 long-range surface-to-air missile capable of handling ballistic missiles with a range of 500 kilometers. This has been used to develop the HQ-19 (and its ASAT derivative SC-19) missile as a space killing interceptor. China has tested the missile several times and is capable of handling missiles with a range of 1,000 to 3,000 kilometers.

HQ-19

The HQ-19/SC-19 is suitable for medium-range missiles and low-altitude orbit satellites, but in terms of higher altitude interception, China is developing a series of kinetic energy missiles aimed at medium-range interception. Since 2010, the DN system has been tested several times.
