China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology is the “cradle” of China’s Long March series of launch vehicles. It is currently the largest research base for strategic missiles and launch vehicles in China. Recently, CCTV reported that the hospital released a news on July 2, saying that it has made new breakthroughs in “low-temperature propulsion evaporation control technology.”
Before this breakthrough, China’s Long March 5 carrier rocket and the Long March 7 carrier rocket belonged to low-temperature rockets. Like the Long March V carrier rocket, in its 800-ton body, 90% are liquid hydrogen at -252 °C and liquid oxygen at -183 °C, which is close to the limit of low temperature, and it is just like this. Ice arrow” one.
It is worth mentioning that although the low-temperature rocket has many advantages, the long-term flight is greatly restricted. According to some data, most of the low-temperature rockets in the domestic and foreign times can only last between several tens of minutes and several hours. Today, the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology has overcome the “low-temperature propulsion evaporation control technology”, which has extended the on-orbit time of China’s low-temperature rockets to 30 days.
It is understood that the technology uses two kinds of advanced materials and one scheduling scheme, the purpose is to solve the problem of short time of low temperature rocket in orbit. Among them, two kinds of advanced insulation materials can increase the heat insulation capacity by more than 50% and 18% at low temperature. This means that the rocket carries the same important low-temperature propellant, which can be effectively extended during the orbital time.
At present, the plan has passed the large-scale ground test verification recently, and the plan is correct and feasible. CCTV reported in the report that the successful breakthrough of this technology is of great significance to China’s future large-scale deep space exploration and long-distance space transportation tasks.
