Beidou Is Expected To Cover The World In 2020

According to the report of the People’s Daily client, on November 19, 2017, China successfully launched the 18th and 19th satellites of the Beidou No.3 system.

The successful launch of this mission marks the successful completion of the deployment of the basic system constellation of the Beidou No. 3 in China, and will carry out system joint adjustment and performance index evaluation in the future. It is planned to be opened before the end of the year to provide basic navigation services to the “Belt and Road” countries and regions. A “critical step” for China’s Beidou to move from the region to the world.

Yang Changfeng, chief designer of Beidou satellite navigation system, said at the time that China will launch six Beidou-3 MEO satellites, three Beidou-3 IGSO satellites and two Beidou-3 GEO satellites from 2019 to 2020. Globally, a more versatile, more integrated and smarter integrated space-time system will be built by 2035.
