41st, 49th, 50th, And 51 Beidou Navigation Satellites Enter The Network

The 41st, 49th, 50th, and 51st satellites of the Beidou Satellite Navigation System have completed on-orbit tests, network access assessments, etc., and have recently officially entered the network.

Among them, the 41st Beidou satellite is a geostationary orbit satellite, and the 49th Beidou satellite is a tilted geosynchronous orbit satellite. These two satellites were developed by the China Academy of Space Technology on November 1, 2018 and November 2019, respectively. It was launched at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on the 5th. The 50th and 51st Beidou satellites are medium-circle orbit satellites, developed by the Microsatellite Innovation Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and launched at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on November 23, 2019.

Since November 2017, with the joint efforts of more than 300 Beidou engineering systems, more than 300 participating research and construction units, and more than 100,000 scientific researchers, China has successfully implemented 18 network launches in just two years. The 28 Beidou-3 network satellites and 2 Beidou-2 backup satellites were successfully put into the planned orbit, and with an average density of 1.2 satellites per month, it set a world record for the global satellite navigation system network speed.

At present, the Beidou-3 global system networking has entered the sprint phase of decisive battle. According to the plan, China will launch two geostationary satellites in the first half of 2020, and complete the launch of all networking satellites half a year ahead of schedule.
