The North Seeking Principle of Fiber Optic Gyroscope

In application of fiber optic gyro based on north seeking, most of the methods using FOG rotating fixed angle, angle offset is calculated by determining the relative direction of the north. In order to accurately refer to the north, it is necessary to eliminate the drift of FOG. Generally, a rotating platform is shown in Figure 1. The fiber optic gyro is placed on the moving base, and the moving base plane is parallel to the horizontal plane. The sensitive axis of the fog is parallel to the moving base plane.
